William N. Schultz, Sr.'s Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - William Newbold Schultz, Sr., age 76, died peacefully at his Odd Fellow Rebekah-Home residence in Mattoon, IL on Saturday, August 6, 2016. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Stephanie Serri Schultz of Charleston; son, William Newbold Schultz, Jr. and wife Bonnie Laughlin-Schultz of Charleston; son Jared Stephen Schultz and wife Allison Hedges-Schultz of Philadelphia, PA; grandson, Henry William Schultz of Charleston; siblings, Karen (Jay) Sadlon and brother Josiah (Jeff) and Eileen Schultz, many special cousins, nephews, nieces, and devoted caretakers of recent years. Born January 29, 1940 in Bryn Mawr, PA, Bill served in the U.S. Navy after attending Westtown School and Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. A lifelong Quaker, Bill selflessly reared his family in southern New Jersey while working as an art and antiques appraiser in Philadelphia. Bill enjoyed reading, book collecting, art, the Philadelphia Eagles, jazz, and spending time with his family. He was a doting grandfather, an all-around gentleman, and the gentlest of men. A memorial service honoring and celebrating his life will be held in Charleston in the Fall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Gifts may be mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
