Wanda A. Trapper's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Wanda A. Trapper, age 95 of Charleston and formerly of rural Macon, MO and Morton, IL, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 while at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Services, honoring and celebrating her life, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday with Reverend Dr. Bob Swickard officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunt Cemetery in Jasper County, IL. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to the Salvation Army. Gifts may be left at the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Wanda was born on September 19, 1919 in Jasper County near Rosehill, IL. She was a daughter of the late Henry S. and Iva E. (Hunt) Brooks. She married Edward E. Trapper on October 25, 1958 and they celebrated 43 years of marriage prior to his death on June 29, 2002. She is survived by 2 children, L. DeWayne Eidson and wife Kathy of College Station, TX and Joyce G. Postlewait of Charleston; 11 grandchildren including Kim (Max) Coffey and Kelly (Ted) Hart, all of Charleston and Kerry (Marie) Postlewait of Biloxi, MS; several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren including, Doug (Nancy) Coffey, Blake Coffey, Travis Coffey, Allison Hart, Andrew Hart, Angela Mullins and a step great-great-grandson, Garron Waltman. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Eidson; a step-great-grandson, Rob Coffey; 2 sisters, Clella Schackmann and Mary VanAtta-Slama; and a brother, V. Vaughn Brooks. Wanda attended church with her family at the Cummins E.U.B. Church in Jasper County. She was employed as a Real Estate Agent and also by Bemis Bros. Bag Company when living in Peoria. She was a member of the Women of the Elks in Macon, MO where she and Ed spent many evenings sharing good times with friends. Wanda's interests were varied and ranged from bowling, camping, square dancing and sewing to showing horses at the county fair. Wanda was a friendly, outgoing and joyful person who loved life and her family. She looked forward to summers on their farm in Missouri and lengthy visits from grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
