Victoria C. Adducci's Obituary
ROCHESTER, IL - Victoria C. Adducci, age 89 of Rochester and formerly of Charleston, passed away at her daughter's home which she shared on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 921 Madison Avenue in Charleston with Father Mike Haag presiding. Visitation for family and friends will also be held Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery located in Mattoon, Illinois. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the Visitation or Mass or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Victoria was born October 5, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Bertuca. She married Joseph Adducci on April 27, 1950 in Chicago and they shared nearly 46 years of marriage prior to his death on March 24, 1996. She is survived by her children, Frank Adducci of Chicago, Linda Minton and husband Mark of Rochester and Joe Adducci and wife Denise of Charleston; two granddaughters, Eva and Elena Minton; a sister-inlaw, Mamie Colacino and brother-in-law, Jerry Radogne, both of the Chicago area; and nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Joseph Bertuca. Vicki, as she was affectionately known, worked in the Chicago area for the Army Finance Company and following her marriage to Joe helped with the family restaurant business. Following the family's move to Charleston she continued to assist with the family owned business of Adducci's Pizza and Italian Restaurant located on Jackson Street east of the Charleston square. She was also a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and was actively involved with her children's school activities, volunteering with the PTA and serving a term as its president. She later became actively involved with the Weight Watchers program and for ten years traveled throughout the state serving as one of its lecturers. When living in Charleston, Vicki was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and since 1969 she has been a member of the Country Music Association. Vicki was extremely talented and musically gifted - she was a singer and songwriter of country music, has written over 300 songs and could play the piano and the guitar. She also possessed an artistic ability which was displayed through her many sketches. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, but was happiest when spending quality time with her family. Memories of special times shared will now be treasures for her family who dearly loved her and will miss her presence in their lives.
