Terry A. Paden's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Terry Allen Paden, age 67 of Robinson, Illinois and formerly of Charleston, passed away at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with Leonard K. Carter and Joe Brazzell officiating. Burial will follow in the Huckaba Cemetery east of Charleston. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral chapel for one hour prior to the services on Saturday. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to Marilyn Paden to assist the family with final and future expenses. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Terry was born on June 8, 1947 in Charleston, Illinois, the son of Earl and Charlotte (Fleming) Paden. He married Marilyn Henderson on May 5, 1968 and they have shared 46 years of marriage. In addition to his loving wife Marilyn of Robinson, he is survived by their daughter, Candy Morley and husband William of Hutsonville, Illinois; his mother, Charlotte Paden of Charleston; 5 grandchildren, Steven Lisenbee of Charleston, Michael Lisenbee of Hutsonville, Raymond Golladay III of Charleston, Elizabeth Golladay of Hutsonville, and Macy Gibson of Toledo; a brother, Darrel Paden of Charleston; a sister, Lori Buttram and husband Bernie of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Paden. Terry was a 1966 graduate of Charleston High School, and following graduation, honorably served his country with the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. Following his military service he was employed by the Mattoon Hospital, served as a police officer for the City of Villa Grove and was a security officer for A.E. Staley Manufacturing in Decatur. Terry was a life member of the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592; the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the AMVETS. Family was a high priority with Terry and he centered his life "˜round his. He enjoyed traveling to warm sandy beaches as he loved to hear the sound of the ocean waves and Hilton Head, South Carolina was his most favorite of all destinations. Terry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother; and his memory will be honored through the many fond remembrances of special times shared.Click to view Terry's memorial video.
