Sharon was born August 20, 1945 in Charleston the only child of James and Garnett (Hawkins) Wright. She married Lee Oakley in 1963 and later married Alan Holderfield in 1970. She leaves two loving children, James Aaron Oakley and Jill Ann Holderfield and the love of her life, John Stewart, all of Charleston; and three grandchildren whom she adored, Carissa Oakley, Whitney Oakley and Joshua Alan Stewart, all of Charleston. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sharon was a member of Old State Road Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) located west of Charleston. In 2009 she retired from her position as a Program Rep for the State of Illinois Unemployment Office located in Mattoon. She enjoyed being around people and had a genuine concern for others and for thirty years Sharon was devoted to assisting those who entered their office doors. Sharon was somewhat of a NASCAR fan but the races were never as enjoyable following the death of her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. For Sharon her family was the most important element of her life. Her children were blessed with a loving and nurturing mother and her grandchildren received the loving attention that only a doting grandmother can provide. She was always supportive of her family and there was never any doubt that she would be right there if called upon. Sharon was blessed with a generous heart and had a gift for taking care of others - perhaps this is why she enjoyed so many friendships. Her close neighborhood friends were extremely dear to her and they truly held a special place in her heart. Jim, Jill, John, Carissa, Whitney and Joshua along with Sharon's many friends share a lifetime of wonderful memories to lend them peace and comfort in the future.Click to view Family Memorial Video.
