Ruth M Tutewiler's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Ruth M. Tutewiler, age 88 of Charleston, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 4, 2015 while at her home. Visitation for family and friends will be held this evening, Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the funeral chapel with Pastor Curt Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Van Voorhis Cemetery northeast of Hindsboro, IL. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to the East Harrison Street Church of God. Gifts may be left during the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Ruth was born on May 19, 1927 in Hugo, Illinois, a daughter of the late Arthur and Florence (Wells) Waggle. She married Glenn Willison on March 10, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1969. She later married Francis Stewart on June, 30, 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1979. Ruth married Con Tutewiler on June 6, 1987 at East Harrison Street Church of God and today would have marked 28 years of a marriage and friendship with their faith and love as its foundation. In addition to her husband Con, Ruth is survived by a son, Rex Willison and his wife Patti of Arcola, IL; a daughter-in-law, Marty Willison Clapp of Villa Grove, IL; 4 grandchildren, David Willison of FL, Colby (Melinda) Willison of NC, Cainan (Sara Quillen) Willison of GA, Monica Willison of Springfield, IL; and 2 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Marlena. Ruth also is survived by an extended family which include her stepchildren, Lori (Tutewiler) Browning and husband Jeff of Charleston, Curt Tutewiler and wife Ginger of Normal, IL, Barb (Stewart) Felgenhauer, Mary (Stewart) Rickleman, Lynn (Stewart) Thomason; many step-grandchildren including Michael and Brandon Browning, Corey, Ryne and Payton Tutewiler along with several step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Helen (Bill) Pankey and Lois Franklin, both of Charleston; a brother, George (Diane) Waggle of Greenup, IL and a very special friend, Kate Andrews of Charleston. Ruth also leaves a special canine friend, a tri-colored Sheltie who answers to the name of Buddy. Ruth was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Max Willison and Harold Willison; a grandson, John Willison; a stepson, Randy Tutewiler; a sister, Nora Hupp; and 2 brothers, Al Waggle and Harry Waggle. Ruth worked at the Bi-Rite Grocery Store in Arcola but most will remember her as their friendly and helpful Avon Representative, a position she enjoyed for 27 years. Ruth was also a landlady for many as she has been in the apartment rental business since 1979. Ruth was a faithful member of East Harrison Street Church of God for 42 years and a member of THEOS where she helped to give support and assistance to others who were widowed. Ruth enjoyed working crossword puzzles and the hobby of doll collecting. She was an avid reader and the church library was her favorite source for reading material. Ruth and Con shared many wonderful times camping with friends and making new friends around a campfire sharing a bowl of popcorn. Ruth will always be remembered as a woman of faith whose life reflected kindness and goodness toward others. Her family was her pride and joy, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all have fond memories to hold near and dear.Click to view Ruth's memorial video.
