Ruth Boyer's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Ruth Boyer, age 89 of Charleston, passed on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. A Private Family Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Adams Funeral Chapel with Pastor Sharon Patton officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will follow in the Newman Cemetery located in Newman, Illinois. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her honor be made to the American Cancer Society. Gifts may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Ruth was born on April 8, 1923 in Mattoon, Illinois and was a daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Nellie (Harshbarger) Ambler. She married Forrest A. Boyer on April 6, 1946 in Champaign, Illinois and they enjoyed fifty-nine years of friendship and marriage prior to his death on August 26, 2005. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Randa Conroy and her husband Micheal of Seattle, Washington; a brother, Ralph Ambler and wife Sue; a sister, Janet Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Glenn Ambler; and a sister, Frances Fonner. Ruth was a homemaker who succeeded in creating a warm and loving home for her family. She enjoyed her travels with Forrest, especially along the California coast and Eastern Seaboard, and their visits to Hawaii and Alaska with Randa were among her most memorable. Ruth was a wonderful loving, caring and supportive wife and mother and was loved and admired by all who knew her.
