Rose M. O'Brien's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Rose Marie O'Brien, age 80 of Charleston, entered her Heavenly Home on Monday, March 11, 2019 while at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Funeral Service honoring and celebrating her life will begin at 6:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation with Father Hyland Smith officiating. Inurnment will be at a later time. It is requested that donations in her honor be made to Rose's family to assist with final expenses. Gifts may be made in care of Adams Funeral Chapel and left at the visitation/service or mailed to 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Rose was born August 4, 1938 in Damascus, Syria, the daughter of the late Dahir and Alice (Dada) Hanna. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Christine Bisesi and husband Michael of Westerville, Ohio and Judith Brawner of Charleston; five grandchildren, Antonio Bisesi, Nicolas Bisesi, Larry Ray Brawner, Jr. and wife Samantha; Jessica Christine Nailing and husband Brian and Tiffany Marie Brawner; and eight (soon to be nine) great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Robert O'Brien. Rose completed high school while still living in Syria. Following the death of her father, she came to live with family, making Terre Haute, Indiana her home. She attained her CNA through Union Hospital in Terre Haute and later was employed with Midland Glass Company and then at Indiana State University in the housekeeping department.. Locally, she was employed with Horizon (formerly Cumberland Associates). She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Charleston, and as an avid card player enjoyed her card club gatherings. Rose loved playing cards with Hand and Foot, Canasta and Spades being some of her favorites to play. She was also an avid BINGO player, enjoyed her ipad and adding to her collection of angels. Rose's family was the true love of her life, especially her grandchildren. She was always there for them with an abundance of love and devotion. They will forever cherish their many fond memories. Funeral ServiceThe funeral service celebrating the life of Rose O'Brien was conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Adams Funeral Chapel with Father Hyland Smith officiating. Christine Bisesi, daughter of the deceased, gave the eulogy and the readers were Ashley Nailing and Nino Bisesi. Christine Bisesi and Judith Brawner served as Pall Attendants. Musical selections included ""Amazing Grace"" and ""Ave Marie"". Inurnment will be at a later date in Roselawn Cemetery - Charleston.
