Richard Anderson "Dick" Jack's Obituary
Richard Anderson "Dick" Jack, age 89, of Frankfort, IL (formerly of Charleston, IL), passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024. He was born on February 13, 1935, in Charleston, IL, to Orlando Emerson "Orla" and Clara Faye (Durbin) Jack. On September 18, 1955, he married Peggy Jo Bennett, who preceded him in death on April 16, 2022.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Tracie Trubey (Jeff) of San Leandro, CA; his son, Rick Jack (Mary) of Mokena, IL; his granddaughter, Devin Trubey of Sacramento, CA; and his grandson, Bryan Jack of Mokena, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 66 years, his sisters Charlotte Phipps, Junie Hobbs, and Dorothy Mae Rau, and his brother Robert "Bob" Jack.
Dick graduated from Charleston High School in 1953. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his service, he worked as a pressman for 35 years at Moore's Business Forms.
Dick was a passionate supporter of the VFW, and his hobbies reflected his love of the outdoors and simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter, enjoyed playing cards, and found joy in trying his luck at the slot machines. Above all, Dick's greatest joy was his family, whom he adored and cherished deeply.
Graveside service with Military Rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston, IL, with Reverend Janice Kahl officiating.
