Mr. Pickens was such a dynamic personality. Loved having him for a teacher in high school. I know that many of us will always carry the fantastic memory of him walking on his hands during pep rallies. He was a force of nature. I want you to know that

I had Mr Pickrns for Journalism in about the 1963-64 school year. I learned a lot from him and was involved with the Trojan Trumpet. I enjoyed his teaching. Charleston High School had an outstanding faculty in that era. I moved out of the area in 1988

My heart goes out to his family!. Mr. Pickens Was a great teacher and even better friend!. I lifted weights with him; and really enjoyed the pressure he gave to all involved. He also ate a lot of his meals at my parents Drug Store(The Owl Drug Store.)
