Paul D. Cox's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Paul Duane Cox, age 79 of Charleston, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 15, 2014. A Graveside Service honoring and celebrating his life will be held at Roselawn Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2014 with Reverend Dr. Bob Swickard officiating. There will be no public visitation. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation. Gifts may be left at the graveside service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Paul was born December 9, 1934, the only child of the late O. Paul and Betty (Glosser) Cox. He was united in marriage to Jalee Albers on August 23, 1959 in Sullivan, Illinois and they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this next week. In addition to his loving wife Jalee, he is survived by a daughter, Jamie and husband Kevin of Williamsville, Illinois; a son, Dane and wife Tara of Springfield, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Hayden Cox, Bailey Cox, TJ Gates, and McKensi Mills. Paul was a graduate of Charleston High School, received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and was a United States Army Veteran. He was a business owner, pharmaceutical representative and was employed by the State of Illinois for 18 years. Paul was a lifetime member of the Charleston Elks Club B.P.O.E. #623, a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and a member of the Charleston Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf. Paul enjoyed following various sporting events and loved being outdoors. His loving kindness and concern for others was evident as he was the ultimate caretaker of family and friends. He was happiest when spending time with those he loved and creating for them special memories of times shared.
