Patricia J. Lang's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Patricia Joann Lang, age 69 of Charleston, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening, December 20, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to a charity of the donor's preference. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or service, or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Patty was born on December 30, 1943 in Mattoon, Illinois a daughter of the late George William and Margaret (Rentfro) Hite. She married Max Lang on July 5, 1963 in Coles County and they celebrated 50 years of marriage and friendship this past July. In addition to Max, she is survived by their three children, Teresa Drake and husband Doug of Charleston, Mark Lang and wife Jerri of Wellington, FL and Tammy Baines and husband Doug of Charleston; five grandchildren, Adam (Jess) Drake of Charleston, Ryan (Taylor) Drake of Ashmore, IL, Shawn Drake and fiancé Ashley Miller of Charleston, Emily and Chloe Lang of Wellington; a great-granddaughter, Caraline Drake; two sisters, Judy (Jack) Sims of Westfield, IL and Audrey Hite of Albuquerque, NM; her twin brother, Richard (Bev) Hite of Charleston; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Patty enjoyed keeping life simple. She enjoyed collecting bells, candles and Boyds Bears, and watching the many hummingbirds gather at the feeder on her front porch which she always kept filled for them. She was a huge supporter of Max and his hobby of drag racing and he often referred to her as his right hand. Patty's family always remained her number one priority and they will forever treasure the many times shared and the ways in which she made them feel loved.Click to view Patty's memorial video.
