Pamela Jean "Apache" Baker's Obituary
Pamela Jean Baker, fondly known as Apache, age 69, went home to the Father on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 3:00 a.m. in her home. She was born on November 23, 1954 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Jeremiah and Mary "May" (Ellard) Ashland.
Pam is survived by her sister, Cher Conrad; her three sons and their wives, Robert Louis (Nora), Jack Lee Baker (Laurie), and Jerimiah Wesley Baker (Krista). She boasts 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kathleen Thomas, and her ex-husband, Robert Baker.
Pam attended Sauk Trail High School and later pursued her G.E.D. at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, IL. She possessed remarkable crafting skills and dedicated much of her life to being self-employed, creating and selling Native American crafts, including dreamcatchers, miniature headdresses for rearview mirrors, and jewelry.
Throughout her life, Pam was actively involved in various organizations such as the Christian Motorcycle Association and Harley Owners Group. She was also a member and photographer for the Endangered Species Riding Association. She contributed her time to fundraisers and outings for the Veterans Home in Manteno, IL. Pam cherished riding motorcycles, crafting, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Private inurnment will occur at a later date.
