Nathaniel ""Nate"" Honnold's Obituary
CHATTANOOGA, TN - Nathaniel Paul Honnold, age 35 of Chattanooga, Tennessee and formerly of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga on Friday, November 2, 2012. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from Noon until 1:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Services honoring and celebrating his life will begin at 1:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery located north of Kansas, Illinois. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his honor be made to Discovery Place. (Kimmel) Honnold. Nate is survived by his parents of Chattanooga; his sister, Heather Honnold and her husband Mike Thacker of Corpus Christi, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Wilma Kimmel of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ardell Kimmel; his paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Gladys Honnold; and his brother, Jeremy Todd Honnold. Nate was a graduate of Valley High School in West Des Moines and was a graduate of the Masonry Program at Ellsworth Community College. He was employed as a surveyor for the construction industry. Nate was an avid sports fan and the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and the University of Illinois were among his favorite teams. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of various bowling teams. His love and enjoyment for the outdoors enhanced his hobbies of biking, hiking and skiing. Nate possessed an infectious smile and a magnetic personality which attracted people to him. He made friends easily and valued his friendships. He was a loving son, brother and grandson who treasured his family's love and support. His family and friends will cherish their many fond memories.
