Nancy Lee Trigg's Obituary
Nancy Lee Trigg, 76, of Lerna, IL passed away on December 05, 2024, at Willow Breeze Hospice House in Mattoon, IL after a brief battle with cancer.
Nancy was born on January 29, 1948, to Harvey N. and Lela M. (Runner) Ames in Mattoon, IL. Nancy attended school in Lerna. Soon after, she started her family. Nancy was a hard worker having worked at several local factories before retiring from Justrite after 30 years of service. Nancy was an extremely creative green thumb who loved crafting and being outside. Her favorite hobbies included horseback riding in her younger years, caring for her flowers and garden, and getting to enjoy a cup of coffee with her sisters. She had a wicked sweet tooth which she passed on to her children. She was the BEST mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Her family will miss her greatly.
She married James Marion Trigg in 1988, in Lerna, IL. He passed away December 14, 2023.
She is survived by her three children, Barbara A. Philpott of Charleston, IL, Mark T. (Mary) Philpott of Lerna, IL, and William J. (Sarah) Philpott of Mattoon, IL; seven grandchildren, Dylan T. Philpott, Devin J. (Haleigh) Philpott, Alex H. Carter, Autumn H. Philpott (Fiancé Ryan Foor), Cole T. Philpott, Emma M. Philpott (significant other Jonathen Carroll), and Jacob L. Philpott; four great-grandchildren, Jace Philpott, Josie Philpott, Oliver Foor, and Hayden Foor (Expected in February); six siblings, Harold Ames of Charleston, IL, Sandra Adkins of Mattoon, IL, Don (Dorothy) Ames of Lerna, IL, Betty Atteberry of Lerna, IL, Bill (Shawn) Ames of Mattoon, and Gary (Julie) Ames of Lerna, IL. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Trigg; one grandchild, Dustin Philpott; her parents, Harvey and Lela Ames; and three siblings, John Ames, Phyllis Stewart, and Roger Ames.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, IL. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Adams Funeral Chapel with Elder Dennis Beckmier officiating. Burial will take place at Bethel Cemetery in rural Mattoon, Illinois.
