When her children were growing up and taking part in the Coles County 4-H Program, she was ready and willing to give guidance in teaching various project skills. Mary June was gifted with a variety of talents. She was a creator of ceramic art and an artist whose intricate china painting was to be admired. Her abilities as a seamstress and quilter resulted in wonderfully made clothes to wear and beautifully stitched quilts that brought warmth and comfort. She was an excellent cook whose delicious hot rolls and cinnamon rolls were always in demand, and was fond of gardening, spending hours in her colorful flower gardens. Many friends and classmates of Max and Susan's spent a great deal of time at the Swango family home located north of Charleston as she always made them feel wanted and welcome. She was lovingly and endearingly referred to as "Grandma Junie" by all her family because of her tremendous love and devotion shown to each and every one of them. Mary June was a former member of the Bushton Christian Church and was currently a member of the Central Christian Church family in Charleston. Her faith was the foundation that guided her life. She will be truly missed by her loving family but is now rejoicing in the blessings of a good and faithful servant.
