Mary Lou Sexton's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Mary Lou Sexton, a loving mother and grandmother, age 86 of Charleston passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Dr. Bob Swickard officiating. In honor of Mary Lou's wishes her earthly body will be cremated following the service. It is requested that memorial gifts in Mary Lou's honor be made to the EIU Foundation Carl Sexton Scholarship Fund. Gifts may be left during the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.Mary Lou was born January 27, 1930 in Paris, IL to the late Floyd and Violet (Williams) Baker. She was blessed with a long and wonderful marriage to Carl Sexton who passed away in 1986. Survivors include two daughters Susan Kile (John Krajefska) and Amy Easter, both of Charleston; one son, James Sexton and his wife Amy of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Shawn Easter of New York and Lexi Sexton of Eau Claire, and; one brother, Thomas Baker and his wife Ruby of Murphysboro, Illinois. In addition to her husband Carl, she was preceded by two sisters and one brother.Mary Lou was a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church and enjoyed her involvement in the church's quilting group. She was people person, pleasant and outgoing and always willing to help others. She was blessed with many friends and cherished the times spent with them. She also enjoyed traveling.
