CHARLESTON, IL - Mark S. Blank, age 54 of rural Charleston passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. A reception for for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening (July 21) from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Newman Catholic Center, 500 Roosevelt Avenune in Charleston. Graveside Memorial Services honoring and celebrating his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston with Mr. Roy Lanham, officiating. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to the Ronald McDonald House or to the Make A Wish Foundation. Gifts may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.Mark was born on December 11, 1960 in Charleston, IL, the son of the Jarl E. and the late Marilyn (Cook) Blank. He married Christi Dunn on July 1, 2000 in Charleston. Mark is survived by Christi, a son, Zack, his father; four sisters, Sheila Dively (Joe), Janet White (Tom), Suzi Schuster (Charlie) and Katie Carlton (Marc), all of Charleston; one brother, Mike (Cindy) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim & and Patsy Dunn; and many nieces and nephews. Mark was also preceded in death by a son, J.D.A successful businessman, Mark owned and operated Culligan Water Conditioning with base operations located in Charleston that served several communities throughout East Central Illinois. But, more importantly, Mark's personal life was exemplary. His love for Christi, Zack, J.D., his brother and sisters, his father, Jim & Patsy and their family was paramount. Mark and Christi shared many interests as evidenced by their doing so many things together, whether it be hunting, fishing or playing golf, to name a few. His love of life and his pursuit of happiness touched the lives of many. Those fortunate enough to know Mark were generously blessed.
