Marjorie Ueleke's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Marjorie Ueleke, age 92 of Maryville, IL and formerly of Charleston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 while a resident at Liberty Village. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. A Memorial Service honoring and celebrating her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral chapel with Pastor Curt Weaver officiating. Inurnment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Mattoon at a later date. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to East Harrison Street Church of God. Gifts may be left during the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Marjorie was born December 31, 1922 in Charleston, IL one of nine children born to the late Walter Lee and Melissa (Kounse) Taylor. She married Alfred Leslie Tucker on August 7, 1942 in Mason, IL and they had three daughters prior to his death in November of 1959. She later married Chester Arthur Campbell and Charles Fred Ueleke who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Hunt and husband Dale of Glen Carbon, IL, Mary's twin, Martha Heinhorst and husband Tom of Mahomet, IL, and Margaret Sims and husband Jerry of St. Charles, MO; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Jack, Bill, Frank "Pete" , and Bob Taylor; and 4 sisters, Betty Randolph, Ruth Lanman, Jean Brooks and Eleanor Millage. Marjorie was a woman who possessed a deep and abiding faith and was a long time member of the East Harrison Street Church of God in Charleston. She was employed as a cake decorator in the bakery department of the Wilb Walkers Supermarket before accepting a position as a chiropractic assistant at the office of Dr. Frank Hodges where she worked until her retirement in 1982. Marjorie's warm and endearing personality blessed her with many long and lasting friendships. It was also the basis for the many new friendships established these past 12 years following her move to Maryville. Marjorie was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dearly loved and cherished her family. They will always treasure the blessings of her unquestionable loving devotion and commitment which greatly enhanced their lives.
