Marjorie Besch's Obituary
Marjorie Besch, age 77, of Charleston, IL, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Arbor Rose in Charleston, IL. She was born on November 30, 1947, to Carroll and Brilla (Markham) Collins in Sturgis, KY.
Marjorie married the love of her life, George Besch, on July 10, 1970. Together, they spent nearly 50 years as devoted partners, building a life filled with love, faith, and service before George's passing on February 17, 2020.
She is survived by her two beloved children, Barbara Burleson and Robert (Sierra) Besch; her four cherished grandchildren, Mashayla Besch, Brantley Besch, Bella Besch, and Ashley Burleson; two precious great-grandchildren, Kenzley Clapp and Nova Burleson; and her three siblings, Fred Collins, Bonnie Uzzle (Collins), and Tommy Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, and five sisters.
Marjorie’s journey with George began at Old Bethel Baptist Church, where they met and formed a deep bond of love and faith. Together, they dedicated their lives to ministry, touching and inspiring countless individuals across the United States through their service in various churches. Their ministry was a cornerstone of their lives, and Marjorie’s warmth, care, and devotion extended beyond her work in the church to the lives of her family and all who knew her.
Above all, Marjorie’s greatest joy was her family. She adored spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking for them, and taking care of them with a loving heart. She was the glue that held her family together, and her legacy of love and devotion will live on through them.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Jason Scott officiating, at Grangertown Baptist Church on KY-109, Sturgis, KY 42459. Inurnment will follow at Old Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Sturgis, KY.
