Marianne E. Pickens' Obituary
Marianne “Mary” E. Pickens, age 69, of Champaign, IL, formerly of Charleston, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Accolade Healthcare in Savoy, IL.
She was born on March 23, 1956, in Paxton, IL, to Pierce and Patricia (Waltrip) Pickens. In June of 2022, after over 20 years together, Mary married the love of her life, Glennis Michael Seay.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Glenn Seay of Champaign, IL; her stepson, Trenton (Alesha) Seay of Marysville, OH; two cherished grandchildren, Shayla and Trenton Jr.; and her special nephew, Brian Morris of Urbana, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graduate of Charleston High School, Marianne also pursued college coursework. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Urbana, IL.
Mary had a creative soul and a generous heart. She loved sewing and playing guitar, and her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of something delicious simmering on the stove. A lifelong dog lover, she found joy in watching over her garden and supervising the work completed in it. Mary was known for her honesty, loyalty, and the quiet but unshakable love she gave to those around her.
