Marcus A. Bunch's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Marcus Andrew Bunch, age 60 of Charleston, passed away while in the comfort of his mother's home and in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating his life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, immediately following the visitation, with Reverend Sharon Patton officiating. Inurnment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston at a later date. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to the Coles County Humane Association. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Marc was born on July 8, 1954 in Charleston, the son of Sam and Ruth (Briggs) Bunch. He is survived by his daughter, Celena Sims and her husband Derrick of Heyworth, Illinois; two grandchildren, Madielynn and Andrew Sims of Heyworth; his mother, Ruth Bunch of Charleston; a sister Laurie Olson and her husband Bill of Mattoon; three aunts, Millie Bunch and Katherine Briggs of Charleston and Margaret Metheny and husband Lloyd of Florida; an uncle, Max Briggs and wife LeAlice of Downers Grove, Illinois; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Edna Briggs and George and Stella Bunch and his father, Sam Bunch.Marc was a 1972 graduate of Charleston High School. He was employed by Trailmobile for many years, and following their closing, he took a position as a welder with GSI, a grain bin company in Paris, Illinois. He was brought up and baptized in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Marc was a true outdoorsman and his enjoyment of hunting and fishing were a reflection of that lifestyle. He was also a gun collector and a Black Belt and Martial Arts trainer. Due to his love for animals he was always certain to have a pet (or two). Marc developed a love for miniature golf and it was a game he enjoyed with his grandchildren who were the love of his life and his pride and joy. Marc's deep love and appreciation for family blessed and strengthened the bonds of their relationship and he will always be remembered as a loving and devoted son, brother, father and grandfather. They will truly miss his daily presence in their lives but will always treasure their many fond memories of good times shared.CLick to view Marc's memorial video.
