She served as Superintendent of the Art Hall at the Coles County Fair, a position she held from high school and for the next fifty plus years. Lois helped John with the family farm located northeast of Charleston in Morgan Township, but most will remember her as their "favorite checker" at the Wilb Walkers East Grocery Store and later at County Market. Lois was a collector of bluebirds as well as Pillsbury Doughboy and Shirley Temple collectibles. She loved animals and none was more loved than her canine companion, Max! Lois was the matriarch of her family and she was happiest when sharing life's special moments with them. Her love and devotion for each and every one was unquestionable. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will always cherish their many treasured memories. Click to view Family Memorial Video.
