Linda S. Walker's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Linda Sue Walker, age 75 of Charleston, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019 while at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Funeral Service, honoring and celebrating her life, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Scott Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to Lincolnland Hospice. Gifts may be left at the visitation or service or mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.
Linda was born August 17, 1944 in Westfield, Illinois, a daughter of the late Leo and Beulah (Willison) Davis. Her first marriage was to Charles Russell Warner and she later married Earl Walker on November 8, 1986. Linda is survived by Earl, her loving husband of 33 years; her children, Tammy Simpson and husband Doug of Treasure Island, Florida, Debbie Endsley and husband Jim of Charleston, and Chuck Warner and wife Audrey of Sherman, Texas; a stepson, Matthew Walker of Mississippi; 7 grandchildren, Ryan Endsley and fiancé Mattie Brokaw, Hannah Walker and fiancé Brandon Beem, Brandon Warner, Allie Bertrand and husband Caleb, Alex Walker, Chase Warner and Ellie Warner; two step-grandchildren and their families, Nate Simpson and wife Kelli and Kelly Davis and husband Todd; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Emersyn; two brothers, Jack Davis and wife Carole of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Bob Davis and wife Linda of Westfield, Illinois; a sister, Monna Winnett of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Warner; a grandson, Kyle Newell; a stepdaughter, Rebekah Appleton; and a brother, Larry Davis.
In addition to being a homemaker, Linda assisted Earl with the family business, Earl Walker Heating & A/C. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Charleston Chapter 1175 and her passion and love for bowling led her to compete on several bowling leagues. She took seriously her role as a homemaker always placing the needs of her family first. She was an excellent seamstress, a marvelous cook, and enjoyed gardening. Favorite pastimes included solving crossword puzzles and watching old movies but spending time with her family was always her most favorite pastime. Numerous weekends camping and many hours of playing cards were enjoyed by all. Her love and devotion for her family was unwavering and they will forever cherish their many memorable times shared.
FUNERAL SERVICE
The funeral service celebrating the life of Linda Walker was held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with Pastor Scott Sims officiating. A reading was given by daughter, Debbie Endsley. Recorded musical selections included "Amazing Grace" and "When I Get To Where I'm Going", Burial followed at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston. Pallbearers were: Jim Endsley, Doug Simpson, Alex Walker, Brandon Beem, Caleb Bertrand and Nate Simpson.
