Linda was born December 8, 1944 in Ypsalanti, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Lum and Millie (Brown) Edwards. Left to cherish their many wonderful memories is her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, Terry Spence of Charleston; her children, Marla (Ray) Fox of Shelbyville, Illinois and Mitch (Mary) Kite of Oakland, Illinois; a stepson, Jason Spence of Marshall, Illinois; and grandson, Steve (Mandy) Nichols of Charleston. Linda is also survived by a sister, Rhonda (Ken) England and a brother, Larry Edwards, all of North Carolina; a niece and nephew and many friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris.
Linda loved with a passion, her vintage clothing store that she owned for more than 45 years. She currently owned Spences on Jackson located just east of the Charleston Square. Linda was a gypsy at heart as she loved to wear lots of jewelry and colorful clothing. She was also known for her kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity. She was always looking for quirky little things - some really strange and some really cool - to gift to her family and many friends. Linda also shared her zest and love for life through her big laugh that was recognizable.
Linda was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and was a member of the East Harrison Street Church of God family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
