Laura Mildred ""Milly"" Hall's Obituary
Laura Mildred Hall A life well and fully lived! Laura Mildred (Milly) Hall, 98, of Reno, Nevada died Friday, March 16, 2018. Milly was the daughter of Reverend & Mrs. D.E. Baker. She was born in Bayle City, Illinois on December 15, 1919. Much of Milly's childhood was spent in Charleston, Illinois. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University, and later earned a master's degree from California State University in Los Angeles.She and Harold Hall were married December 24, 1939. They were the proud parents of two sons: Kirby, of Belton, Missouri; and Brad, of Incline Village, Nevada.In 1956, Milly, her husband Harold (Hally) Hall, and two sons moved from Illinois to California. Harold passed away on July 2, 2007. In 2008, she moved to Reno, Nevada where she resided until her death.Milly taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Illinois as a young woman. After moving to California, she again taught, for twenty (20) years.Milly Hall is survived by her sons and their spouses, Brad (Theresa), and Kirby (Becky). She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, and their extended families.While living in Ojai, California in retirement, Milly and Hally were active in social golf groups, and enjoyed traveling domestically and abroad. She then cared for her husband through many years of his Alzheimer's Disease.She loved to read, lived her life simply and was devoted to the tasks that she believed were her duty to fulfill.She will be cremated and her remains buried beside Hally in Charleston, Illinois. A service celebrating her life will be held on April 11, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. A simple internment of ashes will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston.
