Kyle Thomas Schroeder's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Kyle Thomas Schroeder, age 31 of Charleston, is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a peaceful passing on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at First Christian Church located at 411 Jackson Avenue in Charleston. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating his life will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday with Pastor Mike Southards officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. It is requested that in lieu of flowers, thoughtful donations in Kyle's honor be made to Jeepin' For A Cure or to Donate Life America. Gifts may be left at the visitation or service or mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.Kyle was born April 23, 1986 in Mattoon, Illinois, a son of Brent and Kathy (Thomas) Schroeder of Charleston. In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory is his brother, Jared Schroeder of Charleston; grandparents, Robert L. and Barbara Thomas of Charleston; aunts and uncles, Cindy (Thomas) Myerscough and husband Kevin of Charleston, Tyler Schroeder and wife Susan of Flora, Illinois and Kyra (Schroeder) Houk and husband Ted of Palm City, Florida; several cousins and their families, Rob and Jeremy Myerscough, Emily Milner, Carrie Nussmeyer and John Schroeder. Kyle was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Galen and Betty Schroeder and Ramona Schroeder.Kyle was a 2004 Charleston High School graduate and a member of First Christian Church. He was employed as an automotive technician for ten years at Wal-Mart, Midas and Myerscough Automotive. He later worked for The Grounds Guys lawn care service and was currently employed in the maintenance department with Yost Management Company.Kyle loved nature and was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hobbies such as hunting and fishing and was in awe of the greatness of God when experiencing the gentle stillness of a sunrise or the brilliant colors of a magnificent sunset. He never failed to bring joy to those around him through his friendship, his delightful stories, or the smile that he constantly wore.As a liver transplant recipient in 2011, Kyle experienced firsthand the precious gift of life through organ donation. He appreciated and gave God the glory for each new day of blessings and never missed an opportunity to share the goodness of life and importance of organ donation with those around him. Kyle possessed an enduring faith, a deep and abiding love for his family and was a loyal and steadfast friend to many. He will always be lovingly remembered for these admirable qualities and the positive impact he had on the lives of many. Kyle's cousins, Laura Kapp, Carrie Nussmeyer and Emily Milner gave the eulogies. Millie Turner provided the piano prelude. Additional musical selections included ""It's A Great Day to Be Alive"", ""How Great You Are"", ""I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You"" and ""Lead Me Home"". Burial followed in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. Pallbearers were: Rob Myerscough, Jeremy Myerscough, Craig Deeken, Kyle Wilson, John Schroeder, Jim Mulbaurer and Jared Schroeder. Honorary Pallbearers were Chad Milner, Andy Barnhart, Aaron Kapp, Daniel Nussmeyer and Brett Thomas.
