Judie Ann Stephens' Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Judie Ann (Cravens) Stephens, age 66 of Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral chapel with Pastor Curt Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to Adams Funeral Chapel to assist with final expenses. Gifts may be left during the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Judie was born July 22, 1949 in Cloverport, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James and Helen (Sago) Cravens. She married Ivan Walter Stephens on October 20, 1965 and they shared 44 years of marriage and friendship prior to his death on May 29, 2010. Judie is survived by her children, James Earl Stephens and wife Gena of Charleston, Angela Snow and husband Michael of Bushton, Helen Schlabach and husband Eldon of Humboldt, and Shawn Stephens and wife Jenny of Charleston; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren with another on the way; a sister, Faye Pate and husband Junior of Cloverport; several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-at-heart, Becky Millage and husband Roger of Charleston. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rudy Taylor and a brother, Wayne Cravens. For many years Judie attended Bushton Christian Church. She was employed at various local long term healthcare facilities as an aide and as a maintenance supervisor. Judie liked keeping things simple and enjoyed such hobbies as fishing and gardening with her husband. She loved to bake and the aroma of freshly baked pies often filled her kitchen. Her family gave her the greatest joys in life and she enjoyed their many family get-togethers. She will be truly missed by a family who dearly loved her.
