Doc was born March 17, 1952 in Oxford, Mississippi, a son of the late William H. and Susie Ladell (Carter) Holliday. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Richard Holliday. He is survived by cousins, Joe Reese of Ottawa, Canada, and Anne Fair and Donna Norris of Mississippi. Other cousins include Betsy Morrison, Mary Margaret and Kenny Trotter, all of Memphis, Tennessee. Doc received a bachelor's degree in history from Eastern Illinois University in 1974. Afterwards he owned and operated a cleaning and restoration business in Charleston for many years. For the past ten years he was a driver for EIU. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He had an insatiable love for Bluegrass music and was a member of The Indian Creek Delta Boys. He often sat around improvising with other musicians. He was an impressive armchair historian who had a voracious appetite for reading but above all these things his first love was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Doc will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him. Celebration of Life Home Church Thursday, December 12, 2019 11:00 AM Email Details 2350 Madison AvenueCharleston, IL 61920 Directions
