John R. Forth's Obituary
John R. Forth, 56, of Ashmore, IL passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, December 28, 2024. He was born on January 19, 1968 in Beech Grove, Indiana to Jack Forth and Carolyn (Chandler) Huffman.
He is survived by his wife, Denise L. Forth of Ashmore, IL; three children, Jacob R. (Matthew) Neff of Cape Coral, FL, Nicholas R. Forth of Ashmore, IL and Mackenzie L. Forth of Ashmore, IL; two siblings, Jenny Stephenson of Ashmore, IL and Bruce (Barbra) Forth of Indianapolis, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Forth and Carolyn Huffman, stepdad, Robert Huffman, and brother, Donald Forth.
John was a 1987 graduate of Manual High School in Indianapolis, IN. After graduation he worked at Peterman Tire, in Sales, and Underwood Industrial Contractors, moving heavy equipment, both located in Indianapolis, before retiring in 2019.
He had Jake, born from his first marriage then later married Denise L. DeVaney on August 26, 2000, in Indianapolis, IN and had Nicholas and Mackenzie.
After retiring, he and his family relocated to Ashmore, IL, where he built their family home. He also worked as a knife operator for JJ Collins in Charleston, IL, until his illness in 2023.
John had many interests, including a love for hot rods, rebuilding old cars, antiquing, watching stupid movies and shopping on Facebook Marketplace. He enjoyed a tall glass of whiskey & coke and was known for his love of cooking, especially homemade pizzas. Most of all, John cherished his family, his dogs, Daisy & Bailey, and the time spent with loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Adams Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Andrew Kohler officiating. The service will be held at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL.
