Jerry L. Cutright's Obituary
Jerry Lee Cutright passed away at home in Charleston on August 14, 2024 at the age of 86. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, with a service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Dennison officiating at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL. Interment with Military Rites will follow at Thomas Lincoln Cemetery.
Jerry was born to Cleo and Rosa Cutright on March 20, 1938. Jerry married Lorene Colman on August 9, 1960 in Charleston; she preceded him in death on November 28, 2020 after 60 years of marriage.
Jerry is survived by his three children, Lorrie (Ed) Eden of Athens, Illinois, Jerry Cutright II of Charleston, Illinois, and Brian (Shiela) Cutright of Chatham, Illinois; five granddaughters: Alisha Lowry, Kerry Lowry, Katie (David) Diaz-Cutright, Riley Cutright, and Melody Cutright; five great-grandchildren: Jaykob, Julia, Emma, Ian, and Orion; and one sister Peggy Daniell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene, daughter-in-law, Julie Cutright, parents, and siblings Bess, John, Pearl, Russell, Pauline, and Paul.
Jerry served in the United States Navy from 1956-1976 and earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer. During his time in the service, he worked on destroyer escorts and submarines, and as a recruiter. He also retired from Eastern Illinois University.
Jerry enjoyed fishing and watching Western movies. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
