She married the love of her life on August 10, 1946 and she and Robert were blessed with a marriage and friendship that lasted 68 years. Robert passed away just 17 days prior on January 3, 2015. Jackie is survived by her sons and their families: Tim Newell and his wife Susie of Charleston, along with their children, Bob (Jamie) Newell of Charleston, Andy (Jamie) Newell of Terre Haute, Indiana and Sara (Cole) Namken of Decatur, Illinois; and Jerry Newell of Charleston along with his children Bradley (Elizabeth) Newell of Bloomington, Indiana and Patrick Newell and Eric Newell, both of Schererville, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Teigan Newell, Jane Namken and Alexander Newell; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Lang and Raymond Lang. Jackie was raised in the Catholic faith and her life reflected her Christian values. She had a heart for others and her warm, friendly and outgoing personality gained her a wealth of friends. Jackie and Bob were fortunate to enjoy numerous friendships in Charleston and also as snowbirds in the Florida towns of Ft. Myers and Sebring. Being in her presence was always fun and enjoyable - she was full of life and her smile, her laughter and her cheerful and bubbly nature were infectious. The activities she enjoyed with family and friends such as boating, fishing, camping, water-skiing, or an evening on the dance floor with Bob, allowed her to share with others her fun-loving nature. As a homemaker - she was the best! Her devotion to her family as a wife, mother and grandmother was paramount as she was steadfast in her love and support for her family. Taking care of them was her priority and their lives were enhanced and blessed through her wonderfully prepared family dinners, joyous holiday celebrations, and memorable family vacations. She made their house a home and filled it with her loving touches. She was dearly loved by family and friends who now embrace their many fond memories.
