Guy L. Towles' Obituary
Guy L. Towles, 65, of Charleston, Illinois, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at his home in Charleston. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, IL with Pastor Isaac Przygoda presiding. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until service time at the funeral chapel. Memorials in his honor may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation and left at the visitation/service or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
Guy was born on November 8, 1956, in Charleston, Illinois the son of Robert and Annabelle (Dearnbarger) Towles. He married Robin Gossett on June 16, 2001, in Kansas, Illinois. She survives. He is also survived by three step-sons, Josh Fell of Kansas, Illinois, Jeff (Lauren) Fell of Plainfield, Illinois, and Kyle Fell of Honduras; two sisters, Lisa Towles and Laura (Jim) King of Charleston, IL; two grandchildren, Amelia Fell and Colton Fell of Plainfield, IL; niece, Bailey (Isaac) Przygoda of Charleston, IL; two nephews, Kameron King and Hayden King of Charleston, IL; one Aunt, Nancy Jenkins of Charleston, IL; and Best Friend who was like a brother, Gary (Dana) Freeman of Mattoon, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; father, Howard Logue; grandparents, Earl and Jesse Dearnbarger; and grandmother, Francis Towles.
Guy worked for the Charleston Stone Quarry and retired in 2012. He loved playing golf, croquet, and pool. He liked to spend his time outside mowing, working on the farm, and at his home. He was very detailed oriented, creating plan sketches and building them. He enjoyed baseball, especially traveling baseball with Kameron King. Guy had a great wit about him and valued a good joke. He cared deeply for his Labrador dogs. He loved his family and his sweet grand babies. Guy will be dearly missed.
