She was united in marriage to Dale H. Borror on October 31, 1934 in Toledo, Illinois and they celebrated fifty-five years of marriage prior to his death on May 19, 1990. Geneva is survived by her devoted daughter, Dona Hays and husband Revered R.L. Hays of Charleston; two loving grandchildren, Tami Duzan and husband Bruce and Scot Hays and wife Terri, all of Charleston; three great-grandchildren, Jenna Hays and Jordan Hays, both of Charleston and Lynne (Duzan) Barcus and husband Bradlee of Neoga; a great-great-grandchild, Christian Hays of Charleston; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. Geneva gave her heart to the Lord Jesus when she was but a young girl; was baptized in Jesus' name and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. She and husband Dale made Mattoon their home and were faithful members of the First Apostolic Church where they were both committed to building God's Kingdom. She was a homemaker who was devoted to her family and was instrumental in making their house a home where all who entered its doors were warmly greeted and made to feel welcome. She accompanied Dale when he would go hunting and fishing and together they enjoyed maintaining a beautiful yard. After Dale passed away Geneva later moved to Charleston and continued to serve others as a faithful and devoted member of the New Life Apostolic Church. She was affectionately known as ""Grammy"" by her family whom she dearly loved. She never missed an opportunity to cheer for her beloved Chicago Cubs and she supported her great-grandchildren by closely following their Charleston Trojan sporting events. She possessed a marvelous and endearing sense of humor and her talents were many. Geneva had the ability to take something old and restore it into something that was beautifully useful and functional - she realized the importance of keeping her hands and mind active. Geneva always loved and appreciated nature and the wonders of God's creation. After her move to Cougill Apartments she was delighted to experience those wonders on a daily basis through the wildlife which would often gather outside her window.Geneva will be remembered by everyone as a kind and loving Christian woman who was devoted to her church and her family. Those who remember her as ""Grammy"" will treasure their many fond memories with love and affection.
