Ed Warpenburg's Obituary
Ed Warpenburg, 61, of Charleston, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Ed's love for Disney was something he wanted to share with others. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Erin Hower to fund a trip to Disney for a local family and left at the visitation/service or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
Ed was born June 15, 1961 in Charleston, Illinois, the son of Richard and Janet (Brookins) Warpenburg. He married the love of his life, Pam Grubb, on September 18, 1982 in Charleston, IL, and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Erin (Matt) Hower of Charleston, Illinois; sister, Sue (Ron Kingery) Perrine; brother, John (Nancy) Warpenburg; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife.
Ed graduated from Charleston High School. He worked as a butcher for Wilb Walkers for 20 years before becoming a supervisor of the food court at Eastern Illinois University. Ed enjoyed playing and watching sports. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR fan. His favorite drivers were Bill and Chase Elliot whom he followed throughout their careers. He had a true passion for all things Disney and spent several trips there with his family. His true love was time spent driving around with his wife Pam.
