Doyle Dean Conley's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Doyle Dean Conley, age 74 of Charleston, passed away peacefully from this life on Monday, November 10, 2014, at his home. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 from Noon until 1:30 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating his life will be held at the funeral chapel at 1:30 p.m. immediately following the visitation, with Pastor Andrew Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery located in Cumberland County, north of Greenup, IL. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to his family in care of Connie Conley. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Doyle was born on September 17, 1940 in Charleston, IL, a son of Russell Dean and Mary (Phillips) Conley. He married Connie Sexton on July 6, 1979 and they have shared 35 plus years of happiness together. In addition to Connie, Doyle is survived by two sons, Jeff Conley and wife Teresa, and their two children, Lauren and James of Centennial, Colorado and Brent Conley and his daughter, Katie of Manlius, New York; 3 step-sons, Quent and wife Linda, Kevin and wife Susan, Darin and wife Cristal, a step-daughter, Kyra; 8 step-grandchildren; his brother, Dan Conley and his wife Bea; two sisters, Barbara Chaplin and Linda Brown and husband Merle; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Allison Conley. Doyle installed floor coverings for more than 32 years in Charleston and the surrounding areas. He was of the Apostolic faith and attended Christ Ministries which meets on the E.I.U. campus. For Doyle, loving his Savior, his family and his friends was important. He enjoyed sharing the gospel through singing with various groups during his lifetime, ministering in churches, nursing and assisted living homes and jails. Doyle's family and friends will miss his love, smiles, kindness and singing.
