She married Donald Rex Snider on October 14, 1956 in Charleston and they shared 52 years of marriage prior to his death on April 15, 2009. Left to cherish her memory is her family that was so near and dear to her: 4 children, Paul Snider and wife Sue of Charleston; Paula Matheny and husband Randy of Pingree Grove, IL; Donna Nadler and husband Jeff of Sullivan, IL; Mike Snider and wife Karen of Romeoville, IL; 11 grandchildren: Angie (Chris) Testone; Becky Riley; Brandon (Lora) Matheny; Willie (Krissy) Comstock; Tricia (Melinda) Snider; Chad Snider; Ashley (Frank) Carroll; Dustin Comstock; Ryan Raetz and fiancé Jessica; Levi Nadler and fiancé Ashley; Tegan Snider; and 9 great-grandchildren with another on the way. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a brother, Ricky St. Clair. Dixie was a member of the Charleston High School graduating class of 1956. She worked at the Dutch Pantry in Greenup, the Ranch House in Ashmore and was a long-time Avon representative. But first and foremost, Dixie was a homemaker, a wife, mother and grandmother who was extremely devoted to her family. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Dixie attended Central Community Church in Mattoon and was a member of the former Sopha C Chapter of Eastern Star in Charleston. Simple things in life such as a good board or card game or sharing stories with friends and family made her happy. She was extremely fond of the St. Louis Cardinals (especially Yadier Molena); Peyton Manning; Illini Basketball and Elvis. She also enjoyed dancing the night away with Rex or doting on her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they were the apple of her eye. She was dearly loved and will be truly missed.
