Dennis G. Biggs' Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Dennis G. Biggs, age 56 of rural Charleston and formerly of Crete, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, December 11, 2014. A Memorial Visitation for family and friends will be held at Adams Funeral Chapel on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. There will be no formal services. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to the Coles County Humane Society. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Dennis was born on September 6, 1958 in Cook County, Illinois, a son of the late Curtis and Darlene (Stolzenbach) Biggs. He is survived by a sister, Susan Biggs of rural Charleston; a brother-in-law, Curt Garriott of Charleston; two nieces, Lauren and Emily Garriott; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Colleen Biggs and Brenda Garriott; and a brother, Leon C. Biggs. Dennis was an employee of J.J. Collins in Charleston. He was raised in the Lutheran faith and as a youngster was involved in the scouting program as a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Dennis loved animals, especially their family pets. He also liked being outdoors as it allowed him to experience activities such as camping which he so enjoyed. Even though Dennis was a quiet individual who often kept to himself, he possessed a warm and gentle personality, which endeared him to children. He was well thought of and respected by his friends and coworkers and dearly loved by his family.
