Debra Jean Decker's Obituary
LERNA, IL - Debra Jean Decker, age 60 of Lerna, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the comforting presence of her loving family while at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Graveside Services honoring and celebrating her life were held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Janesville Cemetery with Pastor Tom Skinner officiating. Musical selections included many of her favorite songs including "Free Bird" and "Only God Knows" . Pallbearers were Toby Decker, Nathan Decker, Matt Decker, Tyler Decker, Myles Decker, Dylen Decker, Devyn Decker, and James Romack. Thoughtful donations in her honor be made to her family to assist with final expenses and may be mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Debra was born September 28, 1956 in Mattoon, IL. She married Toby Decker on May 13, 1974 in Charleston and they have shared 42 memorable years of marriage. In addition to her loving and devoted husband, she is survived by two sons, Nathan Decker and Denise and Matt Decker and Ashley, all of Lerna; and 9 grandchildren, Tyler Decker, Myles Decker, Dylen Decker, Devyn Decker, Jessica Bowen, Kristin Burke, Halee Decker, Jess Decker and Ava Decker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther J. (Huckstead) Brown. Debra was a 1974 graduate of Charleston High School and was employed with Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center before accepting a position with the Charleston School District as a teacher's aide. Debra loved listening to music and was a rummage sale enthusiast, always on the lookout for that special treasure.
