David Blagg's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - David Blagg, age 52 of Charleston, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 11, 2014. Funeral Services honoring and celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral chapel from noon until service time on Monday. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Charleston. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or to the Coles County Humane Society. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or service or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Robert David Blagg was born on August 18, 1962 in Charleston, Illinois, the son of Robert E. and Barbara A. (Twigg) Blagg. He is survived by his parents, Dr. Robert and Barbara Blagg of Charleston; two brothers, James Blagg and wife Gina of Charleston and Andy Blagg of Lyle, Illinois; three nephews and a niece, Justyn, Jerrod, Garrison and Olivia Blagg; two aunts, Mary Lucas and husband Leonard of Frankfort, Indiana and Nadine Blagg of Mattoon; and an uncle, Joe Blagg and wife Ruby of Marshall, Illinois. David was a Class of 1980 Charleston High School graduate and a Lake Land College graduate as well. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mattoon and as a young lad was quite active in the Boy Scouts of America. David enjoyed playing the keyboard and always maintained an interest in electronics. His family and friends were often the beneficiaries of his extremely good sense of humor accompanied by his clever and witty remarks. David was always ready and willing to lend assistance to others and was a faithful and helpful friend to those in need. His generosity was extended to many, and he will truly be missed by his friends and his loving and devoted family.Click to view David's memorial video.
