Clementine ""Clemmie"" Hosier's Obituary
WORTHINGTON, OH - Clementine Elizabeth Garner Hosier, age 96 of Worthington, Ohio and formerly of Charleston, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 with her loving son at her side. The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 921 Madison Avenue in Charleston with Father John Titus presiding. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday at the church for one hour prior to the mass. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. A memorial service will be scheduled at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio at a later date. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Gifts may be left on the memorial table during the Visitation or Mass or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Clemmie was born June 21, 1918 in Mattoon, Illinois, a daughter of the late Clem and Beulah (Bruington) Hess. She married Gail Garner on June 5, 1945 in Decatur, IL and they shared 30 years of marriage prior to his death on September 5, 1975. She later married George Hosier on October 21, 1978 and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2002. She is survived by her loving son and his family, Gaylord Garner and wife Cindy of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Dopkiss, Ashley (Michael) Carfagna, Justin (Jessica Dopkiss) Garner; and numerous nieces and nephews including John Hess and partner Bob Wixom. Clemmie is also survived by her daughter-in-law's twin sister and her family, whom she considered to be her own. They are Wendy (Ron) Tredennick and their children, Michael (Paulina) Tredennick, Jeffery Tredennick and Sara Tredennick. In addition to the loves of her life, Gail and George, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hess; a sister, Agnes Metheny, and a special grandson, Christopher Tredennick. Clemmie was a long-time faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Charleston and a 50 plus year member of the Daughters of Isabelle in Mattoon. She enjoyed sewing and listening to music that she and George would often dance to. Clemmie also loved to travel, a passion she shared with both Gail and George. Clemmie relocated to Worthington, Ohio nine years ago to be near her family and as a result of her endearing personality, she was blessed with a wealth of new friends. As a result of those friendships she also leaves special friends Lucia (David) Cox, Anastasia and Joe Rayan, Matt Burns and her St. Peter Roman Catholic Church family. Clemmie resided at the Laurels of Norworth and her family would like to thank the staff for their loving and compassionate care - she loved you all.
