Charles R. Fuller's Obituary
FAIRGRANGE, IL - Charles Robert Fuller, age 93, went to Heaven on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 while in the comfort of his home and in the loving presence and care of his family. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, November 10, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. Services honoring and celebrating his life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the funeral chapel with Pastor Parker Boothe officiating. Burial with Military Honors conducted by the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592 and American Legion Post #93 combined honor guard will follow in North Union (Craig) Cemetery located in Morgan Township northeast of Charleston. It is requested that thoughtful donations in his honor be made to the family in care of Diana Groff or to the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592 Honor Guard. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the visitation or services, or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Charles was born June 27, 1923 in Fairgrange, IL to the late Charles Augustus and Irma (Dewitt) Fuller. He married his high school sweetheart, Lois Louise Reynolds, on November 25, 1945 in Charleston and they shared nearly 64 years of marriage prior to her death on September 24, 2009. What a legacy he leaves through those left to cherish his memory including 4 daughters, Sue White of Charleston, Diana Groff and Debra Barker of Fairgrange, and Marsha Hatcher and husband Doug of Beckley, WV; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and their families and his sister, Dorothy Rardin. Charles was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran honorably serving his country during World War II. He was employed at the Charleston Shoe Factory and lastly at CTM located north of Charleston in the maintenance department. Charles has been a faithful member of Bushton Christian Church where he served as an Elder. He was also a Life Member of the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592 and a member of the Charleston American Legion Post #93. Charles was gifted with a servant's heart. He was happiest when he was helping others and was devoted to anyone in need. He enjoyed gardening and sharing its produce with family, friends and neighbors. He remained young-at-heart and enjoyed sharing his faith with the young people at church as their youth group leader. His daughters always occupied a special place in his heart and he adored being a grandpa. Charles had a positive influence in the lives of many and will truly be missed.Click to view Family Memorial Video.
