Charles "Chuck" Neese's Obituary
Charles "Chuck" Neese, age 70, of Braidwood, IL passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
Chuck was born July 29, 1953 in Joliet, IL; the son of Herman and Rosalie (Nowman) Neese. He met and married Sylvia (Shackelford) Neese on June 23, 1971, having celebrated 52 years of marriage this past June.
They settled in Wilmington, IL where they raised 5 children. He worked a full-time job and on his time off and weekends, he built the house that he and his family would call home for the next 30 some years. He was literally a jack of all trades. Chuck worked hard his whole life before retiring from the Laborers Local #75 where he worked several pipelines as a renowned steward. He was adamant about not missing work. I remember my mom saying that she could count on one hand how many times my dad missed work in all of his years of employment. He was a dedicated worker and instilled that in his children and grandchildren. Prior to retiring, he and Sylvia purchased another home in Greenup, IL where they moved to permanently. He enjoyed being outdoors more than anything especially when it came to hunting with his son or fishing and camping with his wife, kids, and grandkids.
Chuck was preceded in death by his son, Charles "Chuck" Jr.; granddaughter, Kayla Williams; son in law, Jimmy Ward; his parents; brothers, William (Bill) and Don; and sisters, Lois and Shirley.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Greenup, IL; daughters, Sherry Williams of Charleston, IL, Sylvia Byerley of Mattoon, IL, Jeannie Neese of Champaign, IL, and Stacy (Kip) Buzzard of Sullivan, IL; his forever bff and canine companion, Bronco; nephew, John (Jaime) Rodgers who was like a son to him; grandchildren, Kyle Williams, Charles Neese III, Martina Neese, Damon Ward, Hunter Neese, Cloey Neese, David Neese Castillo, and several great grandchildren.
