Catherine R. Kneisler's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Catherine R. Kneisler, age 90 of Charleston, passed away at her Carriage Crossing residence in Arcola, Illinois on Sunday, January 18, 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 921 Madison Avenue in Charleston with Father John Titus presiding. Visitation for family and friends will also be held Friday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will be at Noon on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Manteno, Illinois with Father Al Heidecke officiating. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the Visitation or Mass or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Catherine was born February 15, 1924 in San Pierre, Indiana a daughter of the late Henry and Christine (Fitting) Becker. She married Roy Kneisler on May 29, 1948 in San Pierre and they shared 57 years of marriage and friendship prior to his death on January 15, 2006. She is survived by her children; daughters, Carol Keller of Manteno, Illinois and Linda Allen and husband Dave of Boerne, Texas, and son, James Kneisler and wife Sharon of Tuscola, Illinois; 4 grandchildren, Christina Robinson and husband Adam of Bradley, Illinois, Jenna Keller Linnel and husband Jake of Chicago, Alison Spangler and Kevin Spangler of San Antonio, Texas; 3 great-grandchildren, Derek, Connor and Carly Robinson; a sister Mary Tannehill of La Porte, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Pankiw of San Antonio. Catherine was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean (Ron) Kennedy; a brother, Jim Becker; and a son-in-law, Vern Keller. When living in Goshen, Indiana Catherine was employed for several years as a teller at a local bank. She was a devout member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church family and was involved in many church activities. Catherine loved her family dearly and they were always a priority in her life. Carol, Linda and James would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Heritage Woods of Charleston and Carriage Crossing in Arcola for the compassionate and exceptional care their mother received while residing there.
