Canyon Hayward's Obituary
Canyon Jacob Keith Hayward, age 27, of Charleston, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. He was born on March 24, 1997, to Keith and Elizabeth (Clark) Hayward in Charleston, IL.
Canyon is survived by his loving parents, Keith and Elizabeth Hayward of Charleston, IL; his maternal grandparents, Max and Joy Winkler of Charleston; and his three siblings: Chase (Gabrielle) Hayward of Charleston, Christopher Hildebrand of Charleston, and Brittany (Ryan) Haggerty of Peoria, IL. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Canyon was a 2015 graduate of Charleston High School. His passion for life was evident in everything he did. He was a talented football player during his high school years, and a dedicated competitive leader in his online gaming community, where he was known as a fierce and strategic clan leader in Destiny. Canyon’s love for his family, friends, and his cherished dog, Princess, was unwavering. He was always the first to lend a helping hand, and his courage and loyalty were apparent to all who knew him.
In addition to his love for his family, Canyon had a deep appreciation for music and cars. He was known for his love of driving fast, often accompanied by his favorite tunes. He cherished spending time at fine restaurants, enjoying delicious meals, and making lasting memories with his loved ones. His heart was big, and he would do anything for those he cared about, especially his close friend, Maliq Scott.
Family will hold a private service at a later date.
