Billy L. Henson's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Billy L. Henson, age 71 of Charleston and formerly of Arcola, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 while at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. In honoring his wishes, Bill's earthly body will be cremated and there will be no formal services. Donations in his honor may be made to Pamela Henson and mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920. Bill was born September 14, 1948 in Tuscola, Illinois, one of eight children born to the late Floyd G. and Josephine (Crafton) Henson. He married Pamela Burch on July 8, 1971 in Arcola, Illinois. He is survived by Pam, his loving and devoted wife of 48 years; two children, Travis Henson and wife Marifie of Charleston and Heather Stark and husband Eddie of Ashmore; three grandsons, Ian Henson, Jacob Henson and Gaven Stark; and a step-grandson, Charles Stark. Bill is also survived by a brother, Monty Henson and wife Racel of Charleston; a sister, Phyllis Henson of Charleston; a sister-in-law, Mary Henson of Lerna, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Bill was a member of the Charleston Elks and was formerly a member of the Charleston Lions Club and Charleston Moose Lodge #1388. He enjoyed building things so his profession in the construction and maintenance field suited him well. He also enjoyed a day spent fishing, or his time in the kitchen, cooking family favorites and trying new recipes. Bill's family was his pride and joy - especially his grandsons. His love and devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle will always be cherished by those who received it.
