Beverly J. Buell's Obituary
Beverly J. Buell, age 84, of Charleston, IL, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Willow Breeze Hospice House. She was born February 14, 1940, in Charleston, IL, the daughter of Howard and Naomi (Easton) Ayers. On February 15, 1959, she married the love of her life, Thomas Buell, in Corinth, MS. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2019, following 60 wonderful years of marriage.
Bev is survived by her daughter, Becky (Ed) Carter of Charleston, IL; son, Doug (Andrea) Buell of Charleston, IL; grandchildren, JD (Christina) Carter, Jared Carter, Amber (Jared) King, and Seth Buell (significant other Jessica); four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings Earl Ayers, Mary Richardson, Gene Moye, Wanda Myers, and Henry Ayers.
She was a 1958 graduate of Charleston High School. She married Tom and together they started a family. She worked at General Electric where she retired after 25 years of employment.
Bev was a member of the Charleston Baptist Church and an active member of the Women of the Moose and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, sitting on her deck drinking coffee with family and friends, and making family videos. She also cherished spending time with her pets and loved traveling with Thomas, especially to Las Vegas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Weber officiating on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Adams Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL.
