Barbara Anne Rahman's Obituary
Barbara Anne Rahman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 78.
Barbara was born on April 26, 1947, in Illinois to Catharine and Charles Cox. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree. After graduation, Barbara pursued a career as an elementary school teacher, where she was able to share her love for children by investing in their education and future through teaching. Barbara married, Abu Rahman, on June 24, 1967. Together, they built a life full of love, faith, and purpose.
In 1978, Barbara and her husband relocated to Texas, where she earned her X-ray technician credentials. She later became the office manager and co-founder of Healing Touch Chiropractic in Grand Prairie, Texas a family practice she helped grow and nurture alongside her husband. Her warm personality and generous spirit touched countless lives through her work.
Barbara had a passion for travel, a love for collecting charming knickknacks, and a deep appreciation for family history, which she proudly displayed in photos throughout her home. Above all, Barbara cherished time with her family—especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and laughter.
Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, her love for people, and her giving heart. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so dearly and the community she served with compassion and grace.
She is survived by her husband, Abu Rahman; daughter, Cheryl Downs and husband, Matt; sons, David Rahman and wife, Callie, Edward Rahman and wife, Crystal; grandchildren, Georgia Downs, Gillian Downs, Lindsey McClellan, Zachary Rahman, and Cole Rahman; great grandchild, Phoenix Neimi; niece, Jackie McCord and husband, Billy; great niece, Tonya Staggs and husband, Jason; brother-in-law, Jim Hall.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carolyn Hall; grandsons, Samuel Downs and Trevor Rahman; granddaughter, Alexandra Rahman; nephew, Bobby Hall.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Enon Cemetery in Ashmore, IL.
