Anna E. Parrott's Obituary
CHARLESTON, IL - Anna E. Parrott, age 94 of Charleston and formerly of Newton, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. In accordance with Anna's wishes her physical body has been gifted to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. It is requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Gifts may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.Anna was born on August 13, 1919 in Jasper County, Illinois to Robert T. and Lena Beryl (Houser) Mineo. She married Vern E. Parrott on February 22, 1939 in Fulton, Kentucky. She is survived by two children, Beverly Miller and her husband Robert of Charleston and Jean Lewis and her husband Jerry of Draper, Utah; 8 grandchildren including Craig Miller and his wife Alicia of Past Christian, Mississippi, Karen Sparling and her husband Jason of Charleston, Illinois, Dawn Andersen and her husband Jerry of Washington, Utah, Mark Lewis and his wife Cathy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bethany Barstow and her husband Mike of Sandy, Utah, Rebecca Lewis of Littleton, Colorado, Kimberly Thibert and her husband Paul of Rancho Santo Marquerita, California and Kristen Schultz and her husband Rob of Monument, Colorado; 16 great grandchildren; 4 step greatgrandchildren; 5 great greatgrandchildren; one sister-in-law, Norma Mineo of Charleston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Vern, who passed away on July 12, 1989; one daughter, Nancy Willis; one brother, Bill Mineo; one sister, Lillie Stanley, and one son-in-law, Steve Willis.A long-time member of the Central Christian Church in Newton, Anna was a woman of faith and family. She was a loving and supporting wife and mother and a devoted and doting grandmother. She was a marvelous cook and was known for her ""made from scratch"" noodles and her ""spotless"" housekeeping. She enjoyed reading, sewing and collecting recipes. Her life of caring and love for family, her passion for her church and her life-long career as a wonderful homemaker was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
