Adams Funeral Chapel is proudly and passionately dedicated to honoring and helping our local veterans and their families in a number of ways in recognition of their sacrifices and service to our country. Our staff has broad experience with veteran procedures and securing benefits, allowing us to assist families throughout the entire funeral service process. We know how consuming grief can be and pursuing veteran’s benefits independently can be confusing if unfamiliar with the process. For these reasons, we at Adams Funeral Chapel are fully committed to shouldering the burden for your family by facilitating everything within our power both before and during the service.

• We are able to arrange for a Military Honor Guard to be present at the funeral or memorial service, who has been trained in military drill ceremonies. This can also include the coordination of a bugler to play Taps.
• Presentation of a prominent burial flag, to be draped on the casket, or folded in the standard military protocol triangular shape, and displayed proudly at the service. We will also arrange the presentation of the flag to the next-of-kin.
• Our first-hand knowledge of military affairs can simplify the process of filing all of the necessary VA forms including the application for a headstone and burial benefits. Adams Funeral Chapel understands how tedious this process can be and will be honored to handle these tasks for your family.
• We will gladly assist you in requesting your veteran’s military discharge papers from military personnel records at the local level. Know that we will take every action necessary to ensure that all paperwork is located accurately and quickly.
• If your loved one’s wish is to be buried in a national cemetery, we will coordinate with the National Cemetery Administration to make the necessary arrangements. We will also handle the transportation needs and arrange for a Military Honor Guard at the national cemetery of your choice. Should the spouse of the deceased veteran also choose to be buried in a national cemetery, we will assist in securing his or her plot as well.
